ROBERT X. GOLPHIN: THE BUZZ

BEAUTIFUL MAN IN THE BUFF

Written Transcript of Program:

UKEE WASHINGTON: Well, 'The Word' wants to give a shout out to a local filmmaker. Here's the trailer for "Beautiful Man In The Buff", written and produced by Robert X. Golphin.

Golphin had a role in last year's "The Great Debaters" with Denzel Washington.

His new movie was shot entirely in Chestnut Hill and Millville, New Jersey. It premiered last week and now heads to the festival circuit.

He's doing a great job.

LIZ KEPTNER: Well that's great! Good for him.
A Millville native will be co-starring in a film making its debut at the first Downbeach Film Festival, in Margate, on Friday, Aug. 8.

"Beautiful Man in the Buff" features Robert X. Golphin and Millville native Michael J. Panichelli Jr.

The movie relates the story of an insecure star who is dealing with his image in Hollywood and society.

Panichelli plays Carson, a hotshot manager who is capable of turning anyone into a star.

"I have all the top clients in Hollywood," Panichelli said of his character. "You have to take my direction. I belittle you. I yell at you. I make fun of you. But, if you listen to me, you will go to the top."

Panichelli was previously a senior corrections officer for more than 14 years at Southern State Correctional Facility, in Delmont.

Though fully committed to his work, his heart has always belonged to entertainment.

As an actor, Panichelli has graced both the small and big screens. Some of those projects include co-headlining a filmed comedy showcase with Hollywood veteran Clifton Powell, entitled "Jokerz Wild."

Panichelli has also had leading or supporting roles in the features "Acrimony," "Omega 1," and "The Sacrament of Life."

Some of his featured roles include two episodes of the CBS series "Hack," the HBO drama "OZ," "Law and Order," "Shadow: Dead Riot," and "Fighting Irish."

Additionally, Panichelli has appeared in several commercials, and his producing stints continue to grow.

The screening of "Beautiful Man in the Buff," will be held at the Margate Performing Arts Center, at 3:20 p.m.
