Robert X. Golphin Launches New
Production Company
With many stories to tell, Robert X. Golphin announced today the launch of Robert X. Golphin Entertainment, an innovative performing arts production company.
The multi-award-winning digital chat series RXG Exclusives, hosted by Robert, is now produced by the company.
The mission of Robert X. Golphin Entertainment is to helm and champion cutting edge content (scripted and non-scripted) for the screen and stage. Other potential endeavors may include live performances, master classes, workshops, fireside chats and arts education programs.
The company also functions to align and rebalance lived experiences, creating and producing engaging messaging to expand worldviews, maximize equitable launchpads and vanquish barriers. There is a commitment to unearth intimate revelatory insights into the richness of cultures, the diversity of genres and the multitudes of voices embedded within the global artscape.
Excited to be living as early 21st century artists and change makers, Robert X. Golphin Entertainment looks to welcome collaborative and sponsored unions.
“There are future trailblazers who may not have reached certain turning points in their careers, but their efforts are to be lauded,” exclaims Robert. “We will draw from dedicated partnerships to highlight people at the dawn of their legacies, regardless of age or station in life.”
Robert’s acting resume includes the Golden Globe nominated film The Great Debaters and HBO’s The Wire.
He has written, produced, and/or directed at least one feature film, one TV pilot, 20+ short films, five short documentaries, three talk shows, and four scripted digital series. He also served on the producing, consulting, and/or directing teams for a number of film, new media, theater and television projects.
Robert has garnered nearly 50 awards and nominations, and his work has screened at dozens of national and international film festivals.
He holds an MFA in Screenwriting from Spalding University's Naslund-Mann Graduate School of Writing, a BA in Theatre and Film from Saint Augustine's University, and a Diploma in Creative Writing from The Philadelphia High School for Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA).
Robert is excited to see how his business develops, matures, and teams with other creatives and entities.

Awards Featurette for "RXG: Exclusives".
Robert X. Golphin won "Outstanding TV Host" and "Outstanding Director - Podcast Series" for his chat series RXG: Exclusives at the 2022 Foreman Empire Productions TV & Film Awards.
Exclusives also garnered "Outstanding Soundtrack - Podcast Series" for the theme song UNI by actor and recording artist Brian McKnight, Jr.
The series was nominated for multiple other awards, all of which appear in the above featurette.
The final episodes of season 2 are currently in production.

Robert X. Golphin was recently cast in the role of "J.R." in the upcoming short coming-of-age drama "Exuvia".
The production company (Small Motor Skills) released a series of promos featuring the cast and crew.

"Exuvia" is directed by Scott Burkhardt (NBC's "SMASH"), and currently filming.

Robert X. Golphin won "Best Supporting Actor" at the Foreman Empire Productions TV & Movie Awards.
The accolade was presented for his role as Darnell in How To Tie A Tie, a multi award-winning LGBTQIA+ coming-of-age drama.
Robert portrays a streetwise father who publicly disowns his teenage son days before a high school dance.
Tie, written and directed by Shawn Holmes, also garnered wins for "Best Actor", "Best Supporting Actress", “Best Short Film”, “Best Drama”, "Best Director", “Festival Director’s Choice”, “Award of Excellence in Motion Picture Arts”, “Best Cinematography”, and “Best Hair & Makeup”.
The film has garnered selections at 13+ film festivals/events and continues to play the circuit.

Release Of Documentary Featuring Robert's 5th Anniversary As Film Camp Instructor

Robert X. Golphin has served as Film Instructor at the Rehoboth Summer Children's Theatre (RSCT) Film Camp for five years.
Under his and film camp director Karen Murdock's guidance, children ages 8-14 conceive, shoot and star in four short films over a two week period.
Robert directed and edited a documentary, So Much Happy, which was released today on the YouTube and Vimeo platforms.
The 18 minute project chronicles the camp's 2022 season and celebrates RSCT's 40th Anniversary.
Robert X. Golphin Tapped For Upcoming Cecil B. Moore biopic, "American Zealot"

"American Zealot"/ Tigre Hill.
Robert X. Golphin has been tapped for a brief role in American Zealot, an upcoming feature film written and directed by Tigre Hill.
The biopic is inspired by the life of Philadelphia civil rights leader Cecil B. Moore.
According to imdb.com, the cast also includes screen vet Cynda Williams (Mo Better Blues), Clayton Prince (The Cosby Show), Nakia Dillard (The Wonder Years), Eric Carter (FBI: Most Wanted), and others.
Principal photography is slated to begin this summer.

Robert X. Golphin co-stars in How To Tie A Tie (June 2022), an LGBT coming-of-age film penned and directed by Shawn Holmes. The short drama is making the rounds on the festival circuit and has won or been nominated for multiple awards in the United States and abroad.
The story centers on a high school student whom after being publicly disowned by his father (Robert), must learn to tie his own tie in time for the Winter formal.
Robert also appears on the newly released poster for the film.
